The Global Phonics and Literacy Research Centre (GPLRC) is proud to announce the formal registration of its incorporated company in the United Kingdom. This significant milestone marks a new chapter in the Centre’s international development, granting it the legal and organizational capacity to independently deliver professional training, host events, and expand its global initiatives.

With its new incorporated status, GPLRC is now positioned to broaden its services across a diverse range of educational and cultural sectors. The Centre’s core focus will include:

  • Regulation of healthcare, education, cultural, and other social services (excluding social security) – contributing to the improvement of systems that underpin community well-being and lifelong learning.
  • Primary Education – supporting young learners with early literacy through evidence-based synthetic phonics programmes.
  • General Secondary Education – providing resources and teacher training to strengthen literacy and critical thinking skills at the secondary school level.
  • Educational Support Services – offering professional development, international exchange opportunities, and tailored consultancy to schools, teachers, and institutions worldwide.

As the leading organization in global phonics and literacy research and development, GPLRC’s aim is to advance high-quality literacy education worldwide. Our focus is on combining rigorous research with practical training and resources that empower educators and learners across cultures. We will continue to contribute to the field through our extensive global networks and partnerships, ensuring that our work remains impactful, inclusive, and forward-looking.

At the same time, GPLRC will put more efforts into developing new international collaborations to integrate innovative teaching methodologies, leverage digital learning platforms, and foster cross-cultural understanding—helping educators and students to meet the challenges of an interconnected 21st-century world.

Dr. Jimmy Liu, Co-founder of GPLRC, noted:

“Establishing a formal entity in the UK allows us to operate with greater independence and flexibility. It strengthens our ability to serve educators and learners globally, and ensures that we can continue to innovate in literacy development, teacher training, and international education exchange.”

Dr. Robert Meng, Co-founder of GPLRC, added:

“This incorporation marks not just an administrative step forward, but a renewed commitment to our mission. We now have a stronger foundation to expand our international programmes, deepen our research collaborations, and deliver meaningful impact for students and teachers worldwide.”

The registration of the incorporated company represents a major step forward in GPLRC’s mission to enhance phonics and literacy education globally. Looking ahead, the Centre aims to deliver impactful programmes that empower both educators and students to thrive in an interconnected world.
